The 2015 Honda Civic in detail: always a classic in coupe or sedan

The 2015 Honda Civic is an undisputed veteran in the compact car segment. 40 years of constant innovation has brought up the 2015 model, which is still available in both sedan and coupe versions.

It has been appreciated for all those years; it’s not surprising that Canadians have voted it Canada’s car of the year for 16 consecutive years! The 2015 Civic is available in coupe (starting at $18,950) in LX, EX, EX-L Navi, Si version and sedan (starting at $15,750) DX, LX, EX, Touring, Si and a Hybrid version starting at $27,200.

The 2015 Civic exterior is sleek. Both coupe and sedan versions come with available 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels for ultimate styling. Sunroof, body coloured door handles, bumpers and side view mirrors are also available on many trim levels of the Civic. And the sporty Si is delivered with stylish standard exterior characteristics such as 18" aluminum-alloy wheels, exhaust finisher, halogen headlights with auto-on/off and Fog lights for stormy days, amongst other distinctive features.

Amongst the premium interior features, we can find the Honda LaneWatchTM blind spot display, the available 7” display audio system with HondaLinkTM Next Generation and the available proximity key entry system with pushbutton start. The 2015 Civic also offers a great amount of standard features like power lock doors, steering mounted cruise control (all models except the DX), tilt and telescopic steering column on all trims and much more. Cargo space is ample, with the 353 litres for the sedan models (303 for the hybrid) and 331-litres for the coupe models.

The 2015 Civic can be delivered with a choice of efficient 4 cylinder engines under the hood—a 1.8-litre, 2.4-litre engine for the Si versions and a 1.5-litre, 8-valve engine paired with an electric motor for the hybrid version. The lively 1.8-litre engine delivers 143hp and 129 lb-ft of torque. The sporty 2.4-litre boasts 205hp and 174lb-ft of torque and the engine for the hybrid version is rated 110hp and 127lb-ft of torque. All engines are equipped with the innovative and reputable variable cam timing i-VTEC technology.

Available transmissions are: 5-speed manual, 6-Speed manual (only with Si) and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Combined fuel economy for the 1.8-litre engine coupled with the 5-speed manual transmission in both coupe and sedan versions is 7.7l/100km. There is a fuel consumption rating of 7.1l/100km with the sedan 1.8-Litre coupled with the CVT transmission. All 2015 Civics (except the Si) feature the Eco-Assist technology; press the ECON button and the Civic will adjust the engine and other non-essential functions to go into super-efficient mode.

Even with the increased competition in the segment, the 2015 Civic is still ahead of the game. With versions and trims for every budget and needs, from economical to efficient to high performance, the Civic offers it all.
