HR Generalist

Your goal in this position is to create a true HR function within the company, and consolidate and refine all of our HR practices. You will examine our current HR practices and develop strategies to provide structure, update policies, and implement procedures that will allow us to do what we do better and more efficiently.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic and functional management of training and development, employee relations, recruitment, as well as manage the benefits program for roughly 90 employees across two locations.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Advise and assist supervisors and managers on interpretation and administration of human resources policies, programs, and relevant legislation
  • Oversee employee training and development including new hire orientation, performance reviews, exit interviews, and ongoing skills development
  • Manage all employee files and documentation, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Be responsible for conducting full-cycle recruitment (interviews, reference checks etc.)
  • Manage the Bathurst/Edmunston Honda benefits program for all employees
  • Respond to employee inquiries on HR policies and procedure
  • Responsible for ESA compliance

Working @ Bathurst/Edmunston Honda

This is a full-time permanent position working from our spacious, modern facility in either Bathurst or Edmunston. The salary for this position is $50,000 - $55,000/year commensurate with experience. We also provide a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, life, vision and Group RRSP.

  • Bilingual English and French (speak/read/write)
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resources, business, organization development or a related field or equivalent
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in all aspects of human resources
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration
  • Experience doing full-cycle recruitment
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal requirements and regulations, as related to employment law
  • Experience working in the vehicle sales industry would be an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel between Bathurst and Edmunston on a regular basis
