Five things to know about the new 2018 Honda Odyssey

The latest generation of the Honda Odyssey was launched a few weeks ago at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and it immediately drew a lot of praise thanks to its many safety and connectivity features. But that's not all, the new 2018 Odyssey is also more versatile and equipped with new exclusive features that will turn every family trip into an amazing adventure.

Here are five things to know about the new 2018 Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 280 horsepower, 32 more horsepower than the current Odyssey’s engine. A new nine-speed automatic transmission will equip most versions of the 2018 Odyssey, while the Touring model will feature a 10-speed automatic transmission. These new gearboxes combined with a lighter design should help greatly improve the fuel economy of the new Odyssey.

It will offer exclusive features

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will offer three exclusive features that will make traveling with the family much more enjoyable. The first is the CabinTalk system, which allows passengers have a conversation without raising their voice with the rear occupants using the speakers and headphones in the rear entertainment system. Another device called CabinWatch allows the driver to keep an eye on passengers in the rear thanks to a special camera. Finally, the CabinControl feature controls the rear entertainment system, navigation system and heating through an application on your mobile phone.

Its rear entertainment system will be very sophisticated

The 2018 Honda Odyssey's rear-seat entertainment system will be integrated into a 10.2-inch display and will provide internet connectivity through a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection which will make it possible to stream videos online. A function called "How Much Farther?” will allow the occupants of the back seat to know how much time is left on the trip.

Its interior will be very versatile

Thanks to the Magic Slide seats developed for the new Odyssey, the cockpit is more comfortable and more versatile. The Magic Slide seats offer four positioning modes and greatly facilitate access to the rear seats.

It will be equipped with new safety technologies

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will offer all the latest Honda technologies for driver assistance including Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS™), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
